Colposcopes were never designed for forensic use. Over the years, 35mm video cameras and even high-quality digital cameras have been mounted on colposcopes in attempts to capture forensic photographic evidence. The results have consistently been poor, primarily because the light source, lens, and camera are not properly synchronized. Additionally, colposcopes are challenging to learn and operate, cumbersome to move and position, and extremely limited in their applications. Our camera systems were created specifically to address these concerns.
